WAUSAU, Wis. (WEAU) -- The woman accused of trying to kill four of her young children is expected to reach a plea agreement with prosecutors.
On Monday, online court records show that Heidi Mann, 37, of Rib Lake had reached a tentative agreement, and that the matter should be set for a Plea Hearing and Sentencing Hearing as soon as possible. It would mean that Mann would avoid going to trial. She appeared in court in Medford on Monday. In March, prosecutors say Mann loaded the children, ages 3, 5, 8 and 11, into an SUV that was in an enclosed garage. She's then accused of letting the engine run for about two hours.
In a criminal complaint, Mann told investigators that she didn't think the kids were old enough to handle her pending divorce. WSAW-TV in Wausau reports that deputies say the children are physically okay.
