EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)-- The man charged in an officer-involved shooting near Eau Claire made a plea in court Wednesday.

46-year-old Paul Lynch faces several counts including attempted first-degree intentional homicide. Lynch's attorney entered a plea of not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.

In January, deputies were called to Lynch's home, west of Eau Claire, for a domestic disturbance. Investigators say Lynch was shot after he fired at a deputy outside his home.
