Pole dedication held in honor of principal

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)-- There was a special dedication ceremony Thursday morning at Meadowview Elementary School.

The Sheridan family donated a "peace pole" to the school to honor the late Terry Sheridan, a former Meadowview Principal.

The pole will be placed on the playground for students to go to when they need to settle minor conflicts. Students designed and painted the pole using themes that represented Terry's life.

"He helped break ground here and made sure this place was safe for kids," said 4th grader, Talia Moszei.

The word "peace" was also written in several different languages on the pole.
