Police arrest three after report of suspect pointing gun at people

RICE LAKE, Wis. (RICE LAKE POLICE DEPARTMENT NEWS RELEASE) -- On Sunday, August 24,2014, at approximately 2:59 pm, a citizen called 911 to report two male subjects in a vehicle drove up to him and his friend in the downtown business area of the City of Rice Lake and the passenger pointed a pistol at them. The caller further advised the suspect pointed the gun at a nearby building and attempted to fire again, but the gun misfired. The caller provided a vehicle description and the last known direction of travel to dispatch.

Shortly thereafter Rice Lake officers located the suspect vehicle parked at a residence and apprehended, a 35 year old male, Randal Hoffman of Rice Lake, for reckless endangering safety and various other charges. Officers also arrested, 50 year old Terance Hansen of Rice Lake, as a party to a crime and a probation violation. Hoffman and Hansen were transported to the Barron County jail pending formal charges by the Barron County District Attorney's office. A female, 36 year old Jessica Fisher of Rice Lake was also arrested and taken to jail for a probation violation.

The firearm and ammunition were recovered by officers. Fortunately, no one was injured during this incident.
