The Division employees Special Agents who are sworn law enforcement officers possessing statewide jurisdiction and charged with the responsibility of enforcing the laws of the State of Wisconsin. The DCI has a primary responsibility of investigating crimes that are statewide in nature or importance.
UPDATE: Wisconsin Rapids police say Lt. Steven D. Lowe has resigned his position with their department, and the department will not provide more information.
A Sergeant with the Wood County Sheriff's Department says Lt. Lowe was booked into the jail for Child Enticement-Expose Sex Organ, Using of Computer to Facilitate Sex Crime and Sexual Exploitation of Child-Videos, Recorders, Etc.
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WEAU) – A police department put one of its officers on paid leave.
In an email sent Thursday morning, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Chief says Lieutenant Steven Lowe is on paid administrative leave. He says it’s in response to an investigation by the state’s Division of Criminal Investigation.
The email does not specify why the investigation started. It says the police department cannot release any other information.
