EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Police say the number of people arrested during Homecoming celebrations was down compared to the past few years.

On Wednesday, the Eau Claire Police Department released a summary of their enforcement action during UW-Eau Claire’s Homecoming weekend. It says eight people were arrested, and that the department “did not experience any major incidents related to Homecoming.” Officers ticketed 114 people. The department arrested 19 people and ticketed 107 people during Homecoming in 2011.

The department says it assigned more officers to enforce alcohol-related ordinances and quality of life issues.
