Police searching for suspect in beating

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) – Officers want your help in the search for a man suspected of beating up another man outside of a bar.

Chippewa Falls police say they’ve tried unsuccessfully to talk to Michael J. Cohoon, 29.

A 21-year-old man told police he was outside of the Village Tavern in Chippewa Falls Sunday when another guy walked out of the bar and punched him in the face several times. The victim lost several teeth and ended up with a broken jaw. Officers identified the suspect as Cohoon after talking to witnesses and seeing surveillance video. He left the area before officers could talk with him.
