BALSAM LAKE, Wis. (WEAU) – A sheriff’s department has released the name of the man they suspect in the death of a woman whose body was found over the weekend.

The Polk County Sheriff says Scott Youngmark, 45, of Milltown was arrested on a felony bond violation. Sheriff Peter Johnson says he expects prosecutors to file criminal charges against him in the death of Kari Roberts, 47, of Milltown in a day or two.

Deputies responded to an apartment on Main Street East in Milltown early Saturday morning after receiving a call that someone was hurt badly. The caller didn’t identify himself. When deputies got to the apartment, they found Roberts’ body. Youngmark was found later at his mother’s house. He admitted to calling 9-1-1, but denied killing Roberts. Deputies determined that Youngmark had been drinking, which is a violation of his bond.

Investigators found evidence and took statements that suggest there were inconsistencies in what Youngmark told them about Roberts’ injuries and death. An autopsy shows Roberts died of Blunt Force Trauma injuries.

Youngmark is expected to go before a judge Monday on the bond violation.
