Portage Co. man arrested in Thorp after online chat

NEILLSVILLE, Wis. (CLARK COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE) -- On Tuesday May 20th, 2014, at about 11:00 pm, Randy P. Scott, 48 yrs. old, was arrest by the Clark County Sheriff's Office with help from the Thorp Police department and charged with Child Enticement and the use of a Computer to Facilitate a Child Sex Crime.

Mr. Scott came to the city of Thorp expecting to meet an underage girl but was met by Officers instead.

Mr. Scott had exchanged messages with what he believed to be an underage girl less than a week prior to his arrest. He had indicated he wanted to have sex with the girl, get her pregnant and then take her back to his residence. They would then live together.

When Deputies questioned Mr. Scott about the sexually explicit conversation, Mr. Scott first said that he was just talking. Later on Mr. Scott said that he did intend on having sex with the girl and planned on taking her back to his house. Mr. Scott is currently sitting in the Clark County Jail on a $20,000.00 cash bond.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation of the incident.
