BALDWIN, Wis. (WEAU) -- It is the beginning of May, almost a month and a half since spring started, so how do you describe a day like this?

What seemed like a spring day in Baldwin earlier quickly turned back to the winter that never seems to end. The green grass, quickly covered by a blanket of white snow. So, what do you do?

"I got the chocolate covered turtle sundae," said Calvin Gough, who was at the Dairy Queen in Baldwin.

The Gough family says - get ice cream! They were just finishing dinner when the snow started to fall. It also happens to be Anna Gough's birthday.

"I've been telling the boys it snowed on my birthday in 5th grade, hope it never happens again, and here we are," said Anna Gough.

This past weekend, they were out and about enjoying the sun. And that is how they want it to be from here on out.

"We're tired of it, we're ready to move onto the fun activities in warm weather and not the snow," Gough added.

"I don't really like it because I'd rather be out in the field working," said Brad Greenfield.

About 30 kids from Peace Lutheran Church filled the Dairy Queen, too. They were supposed to be cleaning up along the highway, but everything they were supposed to pick up is covered in snow.

"Ugly, definitely ugly, it should not be snowing," said Evan Nadeau.

But for all the activities and fun the snow takes away, all of these kids are happy there is at least one summer-time tradition it cannot steal.

"It's kind of entertaining seeing the snow falling and eating ice cream, it's paradise, right?" Nadeau added.
