NEW INFORMATION: Faulty equipment blamed for outage
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Xcel Energy says a faulty piece of equipment where overhead power lines go underground caused an outage that affected nearly 400 customers.
The outage started around noon Wednesday. The affected customers are in downtown Eau Claire. Power was restored to all customers at 1:32 p.m.
