CADOTT, Wis. (WEAU) – A power outage left an entire village in the dark for about an hour.

Public Works Director Rolly Tichy says the outage happened around 9:15 a.m. Thursday. He says the main fuse coming into the substation that provides power to the village malfunctioned.

Approximately 950 customers lost power, including the schools. During the outage, Cadott School District Administrator Joe Zydowsky tweeted “There is a power outage in the Village of Cadott. Everyone in school is safe and secure, and we are carrying on as best as possible.”

Crews restored the power in about an hour. Tichy says no other issues were reported because of the loss of power.
