EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)- Students at a local elementary school got into the spirit of reading Thursday, right down to their socks!

Roosevelt Elementary School in Eau Claire held its final Reading is Fundamental, or RIF, day of the year and today's theme was ‘Reading Rocks my Socks’.

This year, kids dressed the part with not only free books, but free socks and a t-shirt.

“Our friends at Nestle fund our program so every kid in the building gets a book twice a year. Today we also have Jo-Ann Fabrics here donating socks to every child in the building,” Tammy Rud said.

The t-shirts were designed by a fourth grader at Roosevelt and the parent teacher association donated them to each child.
