Record year for local snow removal business

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Our local snow removal businesses are staying busy because of the late spring snow storm.

And even with the good business, they're not loving the snow either.

One employee at Premium Lawn Service says this is the time of year they put in irrigation systems, begin landscaping and doing yard cleanups.

But instead, they're plowing half a foot of snow.

Premium Lawn plowed around 40-50 parking lots on Thursday, making sure they're cleared out for drivers.

"We're getting rid of Mother Nature's finest. Loving the snow," said Karl Topdahl. "We've been up since the crack doing it. She's going to keep up for a while still, so I think after 5 or 6 o'clock I'll be after it."

Topdahl said this year was a record breaking season as far as the snow business, but he is ready for the summer.
