EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) A local high school is showing its spirit as students send off their basketball team to the state championship.

Regis High School held a pep rally for the Lady Ramblers Wednesday afternoon.

Head Coach Jim Negrini came out of retirement this summer to coach the team once again.

The Hall of Famer won two state championships with the team in the 1990's. He says he knew from the beginning of the season that his team had the potential to make it all the way to Green Bay.

"You know I think when I looked at the talent on this team, I thought if we could get to playing good basketball we could really go a long way. We are where we want to be, we're at state, so thats a good thing for our program and for us," says Negrini.

The Lady Ramblers will take on Cuba City Thursday night at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
