Regis students wear “T’s for Taylor”

(WEAU) – Plenty of students at Eau Claire Regis High School weren't wearing their normal school uniforms Friday, but it was all for a good cause.

Teachers say the students saw a presentation on Taylor Morris, who lost both his arms and legs while serving in Afghanistan, as a part of their Veterans Day lessons. After hearing his story, students decided to raise money for veterans.

So Friday, they held "T's for Taylor", where if a student made a $2 donation, the school allowed them to wear a t-shirt for the day instead of their uniforms.

8th grader Grace Theisen says "it feels good because even though it's just a little thing, we really wanted him to know how inspiring he is to everyone and even knowing we could help out a little bit just made us feel really good."

Organizers say they ended up raising over $600.
