EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - U.S. Representative Ron Kind was in our area hoping to spread the word about the Affordable Care Act.
Kind was at the CVTC campus Wednesday afternoon where people could get their questions answered on the new changes to healthcare. Workers from several agencies were on hand at the event Wednesday to help people get information on the upcoming changes.
Kind says those with health care likely won't see changes in the future but those without will need to make sure they understand the changes. “We have to try and get information out to the uninsured and to some of those in BadgerCare right now of what choices they are going to be able to make amongst competing health care plans and then depending on their income what premium tax credits they'll qualify for,” Kind told us.
Open enrollment for the healthcare exchanges will begin October 1st, with health plans available beginning January 1st.
