Retired Trempealeau Co. Sheriff dies

WHITEHALL, Wis. (TREMPEALEAU COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE) -- Sheriff Richard Anderson announces with deep regret the death of retired
Trempealeau County Sheriff Darryl McBride on August 9th, 2014. Sheriff
McBride (ret.) was on hospice and surrounded by family at the time of his death.

Sheriff McBride (ret.) worked for the for the Trempealeau County Sheriff's
Office from 1966 to 1992. He was promoted to Chief Investigator in 1972 and served as Sheriff from 1989 to 1992. Most recently, from 2007 until the time of his death, he was working part time attending to the courts and as a transport officer.

Retired Sheriff McBride's funeral will be with law enforcement honors on
Saturday, August 16th, 2014. Visitation will be from 1000 to 1200 hrs at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church 24531 6th St. Trempealeau, WI. The funeral service will follow at 1200 hrs. Following lunch at the church a graveside service will take place at 1430 hrs at Pine Cliff Cemetery (lower) in the city of Galesville. Military honors will take place at the graveside service.

Law Enforcement that wish to attend the visitation and/or the funeral will
meet at the Trempealeau Fire Department, 11620 Fremont St. Trempealeau, WI by 1100 hrs on August 16th, 2014 and proceed as a group to the church at 1115 hrs. At 1410 hrs law enforcement will lead a procession from the church to Pine Cliff Cemetery (lower) in the city of Galesville.
