Rice Lake business to expand, create 57 jobs

MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) -- A Rice Lake business with almost 70 years of history is expected to create almost 60 jobs.

On Thursday, the Office of the Governor announced that Rice Lake Weighing Systems is building a new facility in Rice Lake. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation has a deal in place to give the business $575,000 in tax credits during a three-year period. The company has to retain its current employees and add 57 jobs by the middle of 2017. The company offers weighing, control, data collection, and communication products.

The company was founded in 1946. The project involves building a new manufacturing a distribution center. The job is expected to start in the next few weeks.
