CHIPPEWA CO., Wis. (WEAU) -- A Barron County man arrested late last week, and is now charged with his 9th OWI.

The criminal complaint says John Scrivner, 53, of Rice Lake was arrested last Friday.

It says a Chippewa County deputy pulled Scrivner over for not having a working headlight.

It says just before the deputy got out of the car, Scrivner took off, reaching speeds of more than 75 miles-per-hour.

The complaint says he crashed his vehicle in a field and took off running before they caught him.

He now faces his 9th OWI, and several other charges.
