River Falls man killed in crash

HUDSON, Wis. (SAINT CROIX COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE) - On Wednesday July 31, 2013 at 6:25am., the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of CTH G and CTH T in Erin Prairie Township.

A 1997 Ford Ranger pickup, driven by Brian C. Swanepoel, age 36 from New Richmond, WI was eastbound on CTH G. A 1999 Honda Odyssey, driven by William R. Eubank, age 66 from River Falls, WI was northbound on CTH T. According to witnesses, Eubank
stopped at the stop sign on CTH T and then proceeded into the intersection and was struck by the Ford Ranger. Both vehicles came to rest on the northeast side of the intersection with the Honda Odyssey coming to rest on its roof and the truck coming to
rest on its side. Weather conditions appear to be a factor in the crash as it was very foggy at this location at the time when sheriff s deputies arrived.

Swanepoel was transported to Westfields Hospital in New Richmond with unknown injuries.

Eubank was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Croix County Medical Examiner's Office.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Assisting at the scene was New Richmond Fire and Rescue and New Richmond EMS.

The crash remains under investigation by the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office.
