Alcohol a factor in rollover crash

VERNON COUNTY, Wis. (RELEASE FROM VERNON CO. SHERIFF'S DEPT.)-- Sheriff John B. Spears reports a one vehicle rollover accident that occurred the night of January 12th 2014 at approximately 11:24p.m. The accident occurred in the Town of Forest on West Ave just east of Town Hall Rd.

The vehicle driven by David A. Beck, age 50, of rural Hillsboro was traveling westbound on West Ave when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle went off of the north side of the road, came back on the road, and then went off the south side of the road down a steep embankment. The vehicle came to rest overturned on its driver’s side in a small creek.

Beck was transported by Ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro for precautionary reasons. He was not wearing his seatbelt and alcohol was a factor in the accident.

Assisting at the scene were the Hillsboro Police Department, Hillsboro Fire Department, Hillsboro EMS, and Ontario EMS.

The accident remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
