EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Sen. Ron Johnson made a stop in Eau Claire on Wednesday with the Romney/Ryan Mobile Headquarters bus.
Johnson spoke to voters about the Romney-Ryan ticket. He says Ryan has a good relationship with congress on both sides of the aisle and has extensive knowledge to fix the federal budget.
We also asked him about Congressman Todd Akin who is now staying in the race for a Missouri senate seat, despite pressure from top republicans like Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan to drop out.
Akin came under find when he talked about his opposition to abortion even in cases of what he referred to as "legitimate rape."
Kind says he himself also advised Akin to drop out of the race.
"We've got some good potential candidates in Missouri that could step in very quickly," Kind says.
He says the pressure is growing on Akin and it would have been easier for Akin to simply drop his senate bid by Tuesday's deadline.
