RUDOLPH, Wis. (AP) -- Every year around this time, a part of central Wisconsin gets very popular.

That's because the Wood County village of 439 people just happens to share the name of the most famous reindeer of all -- Rudolph.

Postmaster Becky Trzebiatowski says they get tens of thousands of pieces of mail from all over the world every year. The senders want their cards and packages to get Rudolph's special stamp and postmark.

Besides Rudolph picture, the stamp reads: "RUDOLPH, WISCONSIN, Home of Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer."

She says people want the stamp all year long.

Fred Hardt of Wisconsin Rapids goes to Rudolph every year for the stamp. This year, he sent cheese to his daughter in Washington, D.C., complete with a box full of Rudolph stamps.
