Police secure man in Menomonie Public Library parking lot

MENOMONIE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Menomonie Police Department said it was able to safely secure a man who reportedly was armed and wanted to kill himself.

Officers said they got a call around 4 p.m. Friday about an armed man who wanted to kill himself and was believed to be in the area of Evergreen Isle Mobile Home Park in Menomonie.

Officers said law enforcement established a perimeter around the mobile home park.

The man eventually left the mobile home park by foot and officers were able to safely secure him in the parking lot at the Menomonie Public library without incident.

Officers said no one was hurt.

Multiple agencies helped including the Dunn Co. Sheriff's Dept., Eau Claire Co. Regional SWAT Team, Wisconsin State Patrol and Menomonie Fire/EMS.
