(WEAU) - Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital says this year's Golf & Tennis Classic at the Eau Claire Country Club raised $47,000.
It says the money will help to fund the purchase of an intravascular ultrasound, which is used to repair thoracic aortic aneurysms with a less invasive approach, significantly increasing survival rates.

(WEAU) - Monday's humid weather didn't stop golfers from having some fun and helping a local hospital.
The Sacred Heart Golf Classic was held at the Eau Claire Country Club. About 180 golfers, including WEAU’s Sports Director Bob Gallaher, took part in the event.
It’s been going on since 1983 and helps raise money for equipment at the hospital.
Co-chair of the event Patrick Thoney says "A lot of times there's equipment that we need in our area that we just really can't afford with funds that come in and without raising the cost of medical, this way people can come in and do philanthropy and actually get equipment that'll directly affect people here in our community and hopefully save lives."
Since it began, the event has raised about $937,000 and organizers hope to break one million dollars this year.
