EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- An area hospital raised $50,000 at a golf outing.

The Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital’s Golf & Tennis Classic was Monday at the Eau Claire Country Club. The money goes toward the expansion and renovation of Sacred Heart Hospital's Emergency Department. Monday was the 24th annual event, which has raised more than $1,000,000 in its history. 170 golfers, 14 tennis players, and dozens of volunteers took part in the event Monday.

Drake Larsen of Eau Claire was honored with the “Thrill of Victory Award" on Monday. It goes to a hospital patient who made an outstanding recovery in his or her health. Two teams from the Emergency Department were also honored with the Heart of Excellence Award. It's for providing highly skilled care with respect and compassion.
