(WEAU)--The Salvation Army is in need of donations. There are just 5 days left for the red kettle campaign and the Eau Claire chapter says it's down $14,000 from where it was this time last year.
The Eau Claire chapter says it had hoped to collect $150, 000 this year but is still $65,000 short.
About 30-million people received help from the salvation army in 2011, but organizers say even more families are in need this year.
"This is our budget for the upcoming year all the money raised during the red kettle campaign goes directly to our support services so if we don't reach our goal we might have to cut back in some areas and services that we offer to our community members," said Christmas Coordinator Alyssa Dawson.
The Red Kettle Campaign runs through Christmas Eve at noon.
