Sculptures on display in downtown Eau Claire

Downtown Eau Claire is once again transformed into a sculpture gallery.

Visit Eau Claire says organizers worked on Water Street, South Barstow Street, and North Barstow Street, installing 32 sculptures over the last two days.

They're from artists all over North America.

Bruce Niemi, a sculptor from Kenosha says he hopes the new pieces will inspire those who see him.

"I look at something like this as educational for people, because I hear, 'wWell what is that?" And they see a lot of realism, and say 'Well that's a sculpture' of course it is, but abstract doesn't always click right away with people, I want people to use their imagination," Niemi explains.

Niemi says he makes anywhere from 20 to 30 sculptures a year, and his work can be found all around the Midwest.
