NEW INFORMATION: Stolen Semi tractor and trailer unit found

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (RELEASE FROM CHIPPEWA CO. SHERIFF'S DEPT.)--Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office Investigators have located and are in the process of recovering the stolen semi tractor and trailer. Both the tractor and trailer were located in Rusk County at another trucking company near Ladysmith.

In working with the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office it is learned that another semi tractor and trailer are missing from the trucking company in Rusk County.

On Tuesday Chippewa County Investigators were in contact with the Chicago Police Department where the Semi tractor trailer unit from Rusk County is believed to have been located.

A person of interest is in custody in Chicago however the case is still developing and we are awaiting confirmation of the identity of the individual.

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU)--Deputies say a semi tractor and trailer unit were stolen from Reliable Express in the Chippewa County Town of Eagle Point.

The tractor and trailer were taken sometime Sunday evening from the company lot north of Chippewa Falls. The trailer was empty although the pictures show a load being transported.

The tractor is a 2006 Freightliner and the trailer is an XLSP three axle flatbed. Combined value is in excess of $100,000.
