EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Firefighters were on scene of several grass fires in the Eau Claire area.
Township Fire crews were called to a controlled burn just before 11 a.m. Saturday on Cater Road near Eau Claire.
The flames had blown into some tall, dry grass and burned 20 acres of land.
The DNR heavy unit did a perimeter plow to make sure the fire did not spread.
Two other fires broke out, one in Pleasant Valley and another in the Town of Washington.
Township Fire says those were much smaller fires and were put out quickly.
No one was hurt.
Township Fire says although controlled burns are allowed at this time, people should take caution because of the windy conditions and dry grass post-winter.
