Sex offender to be released next week in Ladysmith

(WEAU) – Ladysmith police say a sex offender who the Department of Corrections has said is a risk to re-offend is set to be released next week.

It says Christopher Alexander, 34, is scheduled to be released to a home on West Fritz Avenue in Ladysmith on Tuseday, October 23rd. It says Alexander was convicted in July, 2002 and August, 2010 of 2nd degree sexual assault of a child and felony bail jumping in Rusk County.

It says Alexander will remain under the supervision of probation officers and will be electronically monitored.

Ladysmith Police Chief Allen Lobermeier says officers will be going door-to-door in the West Fritz Avenue area to notify neighbors of Alexander’s release.
