EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- It was 5-kilometers of sunshine and above freezing temperatures for the Shamrock Shuffle in Eau Claire.
The 13th annual shuffle at UW-Eau Claire took runners and walkers through a 5-k route along the campus.
The money raised Saturday goes to the Wisconsin Youth Success Program in Eau Claire, giving kids a chance to go to summer camp this year.
Organizers said the 5-k was a success, bringing the community together.
"What's so cool about this event is that we've got collegiate level cross country runners that participate in the event but we also have families pushing their children in strollers and that sort of thing,” said race coordinator Brittany Wold. “So it's something for everyone and it promotes wellness in the community. As you can see, it's a great community event. People are out smiling and having fun."
The WYSP summer day camp is a free five-week program for kids in the Chippewa Valley. More than 300 children register every year.
WEAU is a proud sponsor of the event..
