Sheriff's department receives almost 70 crash, slide-in reports in 48 hours

BARRON, Wis. (WEAU) -- An area sheriff's department says it took almost 70 reports of crashes or slide-ins in a 48-hour period.

The Barron County Sheriff's Department released the figures on Monday. It says from Friday morning until Saturday, it received 48-reports of crashes or cars in ditches, including the Wisconsin State Patrol and other law enforcement agencies across Barron County. From Saturday morning until Sunday, it received 20 crash or slide-in reports.

The department says some of the victims were able to remove their own vehicles after going in ditches.
