EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A local business celebrated National Mustard Day a little early with a big bash.

Silver Spring Foods in Eau Claire gave away free brats and collected food for the Feed My People Food Bank on Thursday. The company says it started the event as a way to give back to the community.

"We've been a proud member of this community now for 85 years," said Chief Operating Officer Robert Roemer. "We're still family-owned and we're grateful to be part of this Eau Claire community."

This is the third year Silver Spring held its mustard event. The company is on Alpine Road in Eau Claire. National Mustard Day is Saturday.
