Site plan for Metro Crossing Apartment Complex Approved

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Plans for a new apartment complex in Eau Claire are moving forward.

On Monday night, the Eau Claire Plan Commission approved a site plan for the Metro Crossing Apartment Building on Hendrickson Drive. Rooney Properties is planning to build an 84-unit complex on the site of the recently-demolished Country Hearth Inn and Suites.

The developer says the location is ideal for college students.

Plan Commission member Dave Duax says the developer has to make some minor changes to lighting and the parking lot, and change where some trees are planted. Once that happens, he says Rooney can get a building permit from the city and start construction.
