Snowmobile trails still closed in Barron County and be aware of thin ice

(WEAU)-The Barron County Sheriff's Department says the snowmobile trails in Barron County are still closed. Four to six more inches of snow are needed to open them. For up to date information on the trails please call 715-637-4275.

The department says when they do open, please be aware that the ice is not safe at this time and area lakes may look safe but they are not. We need more cold weather for area lakes to be safe to be on.
