Eau Claire, Wisc. (WEAU) - Area college students had the chance to enjoy a warm meal and help those in need in the Chippewa Valley.
Wednesday night, UW-Eau Claire hosted its annual Soup and Bread Night to raise awareness of hunger in our area.
Organizers say they hoped to raise more than one-thousand dollars to be donated to the Feed My People Food Bank to feed the less fortunate.
"I think it’s awesome what they do so to be able to give back to them because i know they are able to do so much for the local food pantries and everyone around in the local area is a great feeling,” dining chair committee member Aaron Polzin said.
Students had the chance to choose from a variety of soups throughout the night including chicken dumpling, tomato basil and chili.
