Sparta company to close facility near Wisconsin Dells, 44 people to lose jobs

(WEAU) – The state says a Sparta company will be shutting down a facility in Lake Delton, resulting in more than 40 people losing their jobs at end of December.

The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) says Preferred Distributors is closing their facility at 101 Miller Drive in Lake Delton, and 41 full-time employees, as well as 3 part-time employees will be losing their jobs. Preferred Distributors says the closure is due to it selling the business.

The DWD and the South Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board will be assisting the people affected by the layoffs.
