GREEN BAY, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Neillsville girls basketball program has been a dominant force in division three the past couple of years, today they took the court in Green Bay to solidify themselves as the best in the state. They matched up with Kettle Moraine Lutheran, who go the best of the Lady Warriors today, 28 to 23. Neillsville takes home the silver ball.

Coach John Gaier commented, "Unfortunately we just couldn't get it going. A part of it is, I think, you start to panic, and try to get something started."

Senior Jenny Lindner added, "It was an exciting ride in the four years I've been here. It's a privilege to play for Neillsville, but the losses definitely kill me."

Says fellow Senior Katelyn Crothers, "Neillsville program has taught me so much, to never give up, and through hard work you can accomplish so much like we've done in the past four years. Like today taught us, even though we came up short, there's so many people backing us up, and we should really be proud of ourselves."
