STANLEY-BOYD, Wis. (WEAU) -- An area high school has reason to celebrate Friday, as their football team brought back some new hardware for their trophy case.

Students at Stanley-Boyd High School celebrated their football team bringing home the gold ball.

Thursday the Orioles took down the Landcaster Flying Arrows, 21 to 16 in Madison for the division five title.

This is Stanley-Boyd's 6th appearance at state.

Coach Jeff Koenig says it was a great experience to see the school come together.

"Last night we rolled into town about 1:30 a.m., people were out greeting the bus, it was snowing, it was windy and cold, but they were out there cheering loud. It was a great experience for the boys."

This was Stanley-Boyd's third state championship for football, with their last titles coming in 1991 and 1995.
