State Theater cleaning up after water pipes burst

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)- A couple pipes at the State Theater in Eau Claire burst overnight, damaging old records and photos and possibly causing some internal damage.

Ben Richgruber, the theater's Executive Director says they were notified of the burst around 7PM Tuesday night.

Richgruber says once the water was turned off, they thought the problem was fixed, but when crews came back this morning, they noticed two more pipes had burst.

He says in the past there had been minor bursts, but nothing this bad. Richgruber says they were fortunate where it happened.

"It was in a storage room. We are going through that to see what is salvageable and what is lost," Richgruber said.

Richgruber says the production for this weekend has not been cancelled and he says they are now also taking donations to help with the damage.
