EAU CLAIRE, Wis. On Friday students from area schools are giving the gift of comfort to patients at an Eau Claire hospital.
In recognition of Catholic Schools Week, students from Regis Catholic Schools are delivering homemade blankets to Sacred Heart Hospital to be given to pediatric and dialysis patients.
All 24 blankets were made by 6th through 12th graders Thursday.
Volunteers say it's about bringing some unexpected warmth to patients during the winter.
"At Regis we strive to give back to the community, to show them we are praying and thinking of them this cold winter," says Josie Seelen, an 8th Grade Student.
Seelen says students at Regis have volunteered more than 10,000 hours this year at numerous places around the Chippewa Valley.
