Students at UW-Eau Claire play night games to promote sustainability

(WEAU) - Some students at UW-Eau Claire spent the night outside, to find out how you can have fun without electricity.

It was called "Do it in the Dark: Night Games" and happened at the Towers Field on the school's upper campus. Kate Hartsel, the Housing Sustainability Coordinator says kids were playing games like capture the flag in the dark to hopefully make students to think about the amount of electricity they use at night. Hartsel told us “the idea is to get them to turn off their Gameboys, their Xboxes and all of that stuff and use less energy. Come outside and have some fun.”

Monday night's event was just one in a series that the university is hosting as part of their new sustainability pilot program.
