(WEAU) - Elementary students were brightening the day of local cancer patients
Regis Catholic Schools elementary students raised more than $4,100 for the American Cancer Society daffodil days, so Tuesday students helped deliver the daffodils to patients at Mayo Hospital Cancer Center. Eau Claire Ford made a matching donation of $500, making the total donation more than $4,600.
The money raised for the daffodil days doesn't just go towards the flowers, it also is used towards services for cancer patients in our area.
Immaculate Conception 2nd Grader Brayden Galewski said he “was pretty excited (to deliver the daffodils) and I just wanted them to have some flowers."
Patient Bob Cseverson told us "I was surprised. Yeah they're nice, give the kids something to do and get them out of school for a little while."
The students will also deliver flowers at Sacred Heart Hospital Cancer Center Wednesday.
