Students meet with campus leaders about proposal to go tobacco free
The proposal would mean no one could smoke or chew tobacco on campus. Currently, all buildings on campus are smoke free, and there's no smoking within 25 feet of any buildings.

UW-Eau Claire students and staff met Tuesday afternoon to talk about a proposal to make the university's campus tobacco free.
The proposal would mean no one could smoke or chew tobacco on campus. Currently, all buildings on campus are smoke free, and there's no smoking within 25 feet of any buildings. Tuesday, concerned students were able to ask questions and voice their opinions about the proposed ban.
The chair of UW-Eau Claire's Physical Plant Planning Committee says the only enforcement would be peer pressure, and violators wouldn't be fined or face tickets. If it passes, it wouldn't start until 2012
