Summer busiest time of the year for Feed My People Food Bank

(WEAU) - Feed My People is once again offering food to hungry families this summer.

The organization says summer is its busiest time of year because kids are not getting school lunches on a daily basis and parents have to also factor in extra costs for childcare. More than 1/3 of school-aged children in Eau Claire and Chippewa counties qualify for the federal free and reduced lunch program.

Below is a list of where you can pick up food:

Boys and Girls Club
201 E. Lake St., Eau Claire
Monday-Friday, June 13-Aug 24
No meal service July 4
Breakfast- 8 to 8:45 a.m.
Lunch- 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Snack- 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
*Serves ages 18 years and under

Longfellow Elementary
512 Balcom St., Eau Claire
Monday-Thursday, June 18-July 19
No meal service July 4
Breakfast- 8 to 8:45 a.m.
Lunch- 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
*Serves ages 18 and under

The Community Table
320 Putnam St., Eau Claire

Lunch- 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday
Dinner- 5 to 6:15 p.m., Tuesday and Friday; 3 to 4 p.m., Sunday

Bagged lunches available to children for pick-up Tuesday and Thursday

- The Community Table- 4 to 6:15 p.m., Friday, June 8 to Aug 24
- Northwoods Elementary, Manz Elementary, Longfellow Elementary, Sam Davey Elementary Thursday, June 18 to July 19
