Suspect arrested in armed robbery

LA CROSSE, Wis. (LA CROSSE POLICE DEPARTMENT NEWS RELEASE) - On 10/31/12 at 10:20 a.m. the La Crosse Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at “Hangers to Hem” at 1817 Jackson Street. The female suspect had walked into the listed business and after a short conversation displayed a small handgun and demanded cash. The suspect then walked out of the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and got into a vehicle that was parked in the Gas station next door.

Upon arrival to the scene, the officers were able to quickly get a good description of the suspect and the vehicle that had left the area. Officers and La Crosse County Sheriff’s deputies quickly started to look in the area for the suspect and vehicle. With the help and assistance from the La Crosse County Sheriff’s department, the suspect was seen on foot in the area of 10th and Ferry Street and stopped. After initial investigation the suspect was arrested and later transported to jail. Nicole is being held on Armed Robbery Charges and 3 separate warrant charges. It was determined in the investigation that Nicole did not have an accomplice and acted on her own.

All monies taken in the robbery has been recovered, along with the weapon used.

The Vehicle and its owner were also located and stopped during the investigation and it was determined at this time that they had just stopped at the Gas station for gas and were unaware of the robbery taking place next door at the cleaners.
