TRAFFIC ALERT: City to begin "Phase 2" of Brackett Ave. construction Friday

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (CITY OF EAU CLAIRE NEWS RELEASE) -- Phase 2 of the Brackett Avenue and Harding Avenue project is scheduled to begin on Friday, August 22, 2014. In Phase 2, Harding Avenue from Lee Street to Rudolph Road will be closed to traffic with Brackett Avenue remaining closed to traffic. The intersection of Keith Street and Brackett Avenue will be reopened for northbound and southbound traffic on Friday, August 22, 2014 with construction of the intersection completed under traffic. Phase 2 closures will be in effect for the remainder of the project.

The current detour routes will remain in effect with eastbound traffic detoured beginning at the Washington Street and S. Farwell Street intersection. Traffic will be directed north on S. Farwell Street to Main Street; then east on Main Street to S. Hastings Way; then south on S. Hastings Way to Brackett Avenue. Westbound traffic will be detoured north on S. Hastings Way to Main Street; then west on Main Street to S. Farwell Street; then south on S. Farwell Street to Washington Street.

The reconstruction of Brackett Avenue and Harding Avenue is currently on schedule with work planned to be completed by November 1, 2014, depending on the timely delivery of construction materials and the weather.
