EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A crash has a stretch of State Highway 170 blocked off in both directions.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says the crash happened around 8 a.m. Thursday on highway 170 and County Road S, which is east of Wheeler. Crews initially had a stretch of highway 170 west closed, before closing both directions. Troopers are detouring eastbound traffic on highway 170 to go to County Road S, then go north to 990th Ave, east to 630th St, and south back to highway 170. Drivers heading east on highway 170 should reverse those directions.

The closure could last more than two hours. No information on what led up to the crash was immediately available.
